Abstract:
.In contemporary global environmental challenges, climate change, and increasing anthropogenic pressure on the
environment, sustainable development is becoming increasingly relevant, with sustainable tourism being a key component.
Tourism activities, while having significant economic potential, can also pose a serious threat to the natural environment
if resource management is not effectively implemented. This article aims to analyze existing sustainable tourism models
and their effectiveness in the context of natural resource conservation. The study concludes that a range of sustainable
development models are applied in contemporary tourism practices, with their efficacy varying depending on regional
characteristics and the level of implementation of environmentally oriented strategies. Among the most effective models
for achieving sustainability in tourism are the following: the green tourism model, which ensures a high level of
environmental protection through the use of eco-friendly practices; the carrying capacity model, which allows for
controlling the anthropogenic load on natural sites by limiting the flow of tourists; and the sustainable destination
management model, which focuses on balancing economic, social, and environmental interests through coordination
among all participants in the tourism process.
