Abstract: The acquisition of a robust and functional vocabulary remains one of the most persistent challenges in English Language Teaching (ELT), acting as a critical gateway to communicative competence. Traditional pedagogical approaches, often reliant on decontextualized word lists, rote memorization, and massed practice, frequently result in superficial learning and rapid knowledge decay, failing to bridge the gap between passive recognition and active lexical retrieval.
